CBD, Skin, Snouts & You
It's a special day today.
A day that we recognize and appreciate animals of all sorts. A day, according to WorldAnimalDay.Org, to "raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe." Whether you have a dog, cat, llama or ferret-- there are plenty of ways you can show your friends some love.
We here at Skyline are particularly keen to sharing the love and benefits associated with CBD oils and hemp-based products with our beloved companions.
After all, they love us and take care of us, so why not return the favor?
We have already discussed before the great benefits associated with CBD and pets in a previous blog, but just to reiterate, here are a few of the amazing things that CBD has been known to treat and cure:
Aging issues, such as joint & mobility
Hyperactivity and Anxiety, including phobias (Fireworks, Thunderstorms)
Chronic Pain, including Arthritis
Deteriorating Quality of Life
Digestive Issues, including Gastrointestinal issues and Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Cancer, Fatty Tumors, and Glaucoma
Inflammation and Pain
But let's focus in on that last one, skin problems. How often is it that you find Spot chewing on his soft paw pads (or not so soft, after tons of chewing) and you have to correct him? It's not entirely uncommon that the underside of dogs' paws become beat up and ruined due to constant chewing and irritation.. and while they seem all too excited to constantly nag and chew, it's probably fairly annoying and painful for them, too.
This constant chewing and irritation can be attributed to a many different things. Vet Street tells us that constant chewing can be summed up to food allergies, simple itching or continued wound irritation and even some cancers.
Additionally, Innovet notes that due to a variety of reasons including allergies, parasites and even psychological issues, pets will constantly chew and irritate their skin. But CBD oil may be able to assist and even stop this, due to the fact that:
"Hemp oil has the ability to reduce allergic reactions in the entire body, calm anxiety and reduce obsessive behaviors like chewing and licking."
Remember our mention above, too, that CBD can help with Cancers. It sounds like CBD is knocking it out of the park in terms of helping all of the above.
... And not only that, but hemp oil has no reaction with other medications. So if your pets are already on medications for other reasons, you don't have to worry about any negative interactions. Futhermore, there are no side effects and it is non-habit forming/non-addictive.
So don't worry. Spot won't be waking up in the middle of the night rummaging through the cabinets for a fix -- (my mind has immediately gone to a dog version of Dave Chappelle's Tyrone Biggums character).
But I digress --
The idea that CBD oil soothes and helps with those animal noses as well is very exciting and we recommend you take your oil and try things out with Spot. See how it helps.
Besides, we have our earthy and citrus salves we apply to our own skin, and as we have discussed in a previous post, we share nearly 70 percent biological homology with animals.
So we are convinced that our nutrient-rich CBD oil acts as a type of soothing balm for cracked, irritated or dry animal noses.
Sounds like we've got a solid foundation for a new way to help out our pets, on top of oral application.
So not only can you now provide CBD oil to your pet by mouth to aid with a wide variety of ailments, you can take the same product and apply it to those beat up paws and tired out noses.
Try it out. It's just another way to show your loving friend more appreciation -- and happy World Animal Day!
